Statement on COVID-19
March 15, 2020
Dear Friends and Clients,
During this critical time, we aim to meet the needs of our clients, who are among the most vulnerable, while minimizing the risk of exposure to coronavirus (COVID-19). We acknowledge that It's important that our information, referral, and assistance activities remain available during this pandemic. During this time, we are connecting our clients to community activities that support health and the recommended social distancing practices -- more info here.
Our main offices at the Hampden Family Center will be closed, and we will operate on a limited basis via our office at 3900 Roland Ave. We will update you on the anticipated reopen date of our main offices as this information is available. We have canceled outreach and educational activities through the end of March, including our Stepping On series and our joint breakfast with The Village Church planned for March 28. We will evaluate future activities at the end of March. Through the support of our partners at the Maryland Department of Aging and the Maryland Food Bank, we will have the My Groceries to Go! distribution as scheduled on March 16.
To promote social distancing practices, all scheduled appointments have been cancelled. We will heavily rely on phones and other technology during this time to conduct our business safely. St. Mary’s Outreach Center is eager to make sure our community stays as healthy as possible, and this means being watchful of symptoms in yourself and family members. The CDC says that the symptoms for COVID-19 include fever, shortness of breath, and cough.
Please note that while we have the necessary phone technology to communicate via our main number (410-366-3106), we may experience a delay in phone communication. We appreciate your understanding, and strive to provide you the best possible service during this time. Thank you!
